2020 Summer Reading program
June 15 - August 15
2020 Summer Reading at Hackley Public Library is here!
This year, our program will look different for kids, teens, and adults. We’ll be using an online program called Beanstack, where participants can easily register online, track their reading progress right from home, and have the chance to win prizes! You don't need a library card to participate! All ages are welcome to participate in this free Summer Reading program.

Youth Services and Teen Programs
Take and Make Craft for Teens- Guitar Pick Jewlery
6 PM, Thursday, August 27
Follow along online with Miss Melissa and put together a fun craft kit prepared by the library. August's Teen craft will be Guitar Pick Jewelry! There's no need to register ahead of time for your craft kit!
During open hours, come to pick up a kit at the library sometime between Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27, and tune in at 6:00 pm Thursday, August 27 for a live demonstration! Follow our Facebook Page for any updates! Free to participate.
August Chapter Book Read

Kick back and enjoy a classic adventure tale, read to you on HPL’s Facebook page! This tale tells the story of two children who run away to live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While there, Claudia and Jaime discover a mystery only they can solve! We’ll be reading From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg daily during the month of August, at 3 pm on HPL’s Facebook page. Free to watch and enjoy!

Ladybug Flower Pot - Hackley Crafts Online
6 PM, Monday, August 24
Get crafty with us and create your own Ladybug flower pot using an empty pop bottle! This cute and easy craft can be made by using some supplies you have around your house. What will you need? You'll want to have an empty 2 liter pop bottle, a marker, scissors, a stapler (glue can be used instead), and a plant. We'll provide you with some supplies too, including paint, a paintbrush, and glue!
A demonstration of how to make this fun Ladybug Flower Pot craft will be aired online, on Hackley Library's Facebook page, on Monday, August 24 at 6 pm! Free.

During this free event, we'll discuss strategies designed to help you work toward fulfilling your retirement expectations, focusing on providing not only for your income needs today but also well into the future. We'll also explore how to address such key concerns as inflation, health care expenses and market volatility, as well as ways to prepare in advance for things that may not go as expected.
Left to Write (Creative Writing Group) Prompts

Did you know? Hackley Public Library has a creative writing group called Left to Write! For the time being, we're bringing Left to Write to you, with prompts over Facebook. Anyone can participate by using the prompt to inspire your writing! Once the library is hosting programs inside the library, we will have a special meeting to read over what you've written at home.
