Come to the library to see movies on the first Tuesday of the month. Bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. This month we’ll be screening Concussion: “A dramatic thriller based on the true David vs. Goliath story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu. Omalu, a forensic neuropathologist, made the first discovery of CTE, a football-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu's emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful and beloved institutions in the world.” The movie runs 123 minutes. Brought to you through the generosity of the Friends of Hackley Library.

Five members of the local storytelling group the Yarnspinners will delight you with an interesting array of stories. Come and enjoy the stories and learn more about becoming a storyteller. The stories are generally appropriate for teens and adults.
YARNSPINNERS was founded in 1992 by the late Professional Storyteller and Educator, Nancy deVries, and former Hackley Youth Librarian and Storyteller, Allison Day. The inspiration for YARNSPINNERS came from Nancy deVries' experience with such groups in Scotland and Ireland. The YARNSPINNERS are a group of adults that meet monthly to explore the ancient art of storytelling. Participants are given opportunities to tell their stories in a supportive and encouraging environment. YARNSPINNERS also tell stories at banquets, parties, schools, libraries and festivals.
