Sunday, April 15, at 3:30 PM - Samuel Lutheran Church Commemoration Service (Corner of 8th Street and Muskegon Ave. downtown Muskegon). Edith Maniker, who as a young child was a Kindertransport survivor who escaped Nazi persecution during World War II, will be the guest presenter at the 2018 Shoah Commemoration Service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 15. The event is organized by the Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies – Muskegon.

Monday, April 16, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - During the day on April 16, Maniker will be participating in an outreach program (CHGS Outreach Program) for Muskegon County High Schools from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by the Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies – Muskegon.

Monday, April 16, from 6:30-8:00 PM - Maniker will also speak at a community event on Monday, April 16, from 6:30-8 p.m. in Muskegon Community College’s Sturrus Technology Center, 388 W. Clay Ave., in downtown Muskegon.

Tuesday April 17 at 12:30 PM, Edith will travel north to Ludington to speak at West Shore Community College

The Center has been in existence since 2010 and was preceded by the Shoah Remembrance Committee of
Muskegon which began in 1995. Over these 23 years we have brought ten survivors -children and adults –
rescuers and liberators and scholars to the Muskegon area.
