White Lake Winter Lecture Series

On February 27 in honor of Black History Month, Antione Hackney will present “The History of the Blues” at 7 PM at the Book Nook & Java Shop, 8744 Ferry St. Montague

Please join us on a fantastic journey through the history of the Blues. We will begin our journey in the middle of the 19th century following the roots and creation of this art form. Then we will discuss and enjoy some of the amazing musicians of the early 20th century and show how their fiery personalities shaped the blues. Finally, we will discuss and get a feel for how the Blues are performed in modern times and we'll talk about the great things people are doing all over the world to keep this uniquely American music flourishing.

For the ending presentation on March 27, Chef Jill Hansen will speak on “The Art of Taste”.

January and February’s 7 PM presentations will take place at the Book Nook & Java Shop, 8744 Ferry St. in Montague. The presentation in March will be at 7 PM at Cichetti Culinary Studio, 702 Holton Rd., North Muskegon. Admission is $5 at the door. Everyone is welcomed!
