Clarence Zylman was an ordinary man who led a remarkable life immortalized in an extraordinary song. With Muskegon and Grand Haven ties, Clarence was the inspiration for the classic Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B, originally performed by the Andrews Sisters but recorded by many other artists including Bette Midler. Muskegon Community College history instructor Kurt Troutman will present his documentary film full of joyful music about Clarence followed by a hearty discussion.
