SUMMER INTERN OPPORTUNITY

LIKE KIDS? Working on a teaching degree and need experience with real children? Hackley Public Library has an unpaid summer internship/volunteer opportunity 12 hours per week from the end of May through early August. We’re looking for a friendly and positive person who enjoys interacting with children and tweens to assist library staff with fun summer reading programs by registering children, tracking/handing out prizes, assisting with programs, organizing and putting on events, and guiding small groups. You need to have the ability and willingness to speak in front of children and caregivers, be organized yet flexible, have great interpersonal skills, and you have to be able to handle working in an environment that may be noisy, hectic and hot.

Some undergraduate coursework in elementary education, child development, children’s literature or recreation required for this excellent resume-building position. We will work with your college or university if you can turn this into a credit opportunity.

Hours: Wednesdays 10:00 - 2:00, Saturdays 1:00 - 4:00, and TBA.
